WakeUP Wake County and League of Women Voters of Wake County Announce Fall 2012 Candidate Forums

Have you ever gone to the polls on election day and had no idea who you were voting for or what their opinions were on important issues in your community?  If so, WakeUP Wake County and League of Women Voters of Wake County want to help you become an informed voter for this November’s elections.  Come to our non-partisan forum series for Wake County Commission (Thursdays, September 20 – October 11) and NC Superintendent of Public instruction (October 15).

These forums give you an opportunity to ask the candidates questions and hold them accountable for their positions on issues that matter to all Wake County citizens.  Don’t let special interests control local and state government – get informed.  Who you vote for matters.  Local and state elected officials have a profound impact on your daily life – they regulate growth planning, schools, transportation, and more.  Know who and what you are voting for November 6th by attending these forums and meeting the candidates for Wake County Commission and NC Superintendent of Public Instruction.

If you can’t make the forums, check out www.wakeupwakecounty.org afterwards, and we will have a link to watch the forum online.  These forums are free and open to the public.  Download the 2012 Candidate Forum Flyer and share it with a friend to invite them to the forums!
