It’s Now Easier Than Ever to GO Around the Triangle

Soon you’ll see a new face on buses around the Triangle!  On October 7, 2014 the Raleigh City Council officially approved GO Raleigh, a new branding and naming convention for Capital Area Transit (CAT). Now that the Raleigh Transit Authority (RTA) has approved the new naming convention, “GO” will be in use for all local transit systems operating across the Triangle Region.

In the upcoming weeks, CAT buses will be repainted with the new GO Raleigh design and name. Other Triangle system buses will be labeled GO CaryGO DurhamGO Chapel Hill, and GO Triangle. This rebranding should reduce the amount of confusion which riders experience while traveling throughout the Triangle.

Although many alternatives were considered in the review process, this new paint design will attempt to represent an interconnectedness between local transit, while maintaining each system’s unique character.

Cary hasn’t yet approved the change in branding for its own system, C-TRAN, according to the News & Observer.
