A new national study has been released by Smart Growth America, in which 221 metro regions around the country were scored according to their level of sprawl or density. Metro regions in the Triangle all rated near the middle of the list, but are scored as being sprawling.
The study also shows a connection between more compact, walkable communities and a variety of quality of life indicators, including economic mobility, transportation and housing costs, and choice of transportation. This data underscores the importance of WakeUP’s work to encourage good growth planning here in the Triangle.
