Imagine a Day Without Water – October 10, 2018
This year WakeUP co-hosted Imagine a Day without Water educational event highlighting the value of water at Raleigh Union Station.
The City of Raleigh’s water, Aqua and grocery store bottled water was put to the test at our Water Bar. Participants taste tested water from various sources awhile they talked with water experts about where our water comes from.
The moderated by Wayne Miles, City of Raleigh Stormwater lead the discussion about the Value of Water with our panel: Lee Stuart, Trophy Brewing; Morissville Mayor TJ Cawley; Mitch Woodward, NC State Cooperative Extension; Francine Durso, NC Department of Environmental Quality; John Dorney Moffat and Nichol/Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association (shown in the photo above left to right)
The Green Stormwater Infrastructure Tour highlighted stromwater practices located at Raleigh Union Station and The Dillon.
This and other engagement are motivating municipalities to consider green stormwater infrastructure and the importance of dedicated water and sewer fees as ways to improve water quality as we grow.
