At their May 22nd meeting, the WakeUP Wake County Board of Directors passed a resolution that supports the proposed Wake County Transit Plan and placing a 1/2 cent sales tax referendum on the November ballot to fund the plan. This resolution will be sent to the Wake County Commissioners. The Board of Directors support the plan due to its ability to mitigate the expected growth and congestion in Wake County through a phased approach that is fiscally responsible by implementing expanded bus and commuter rail service before building a light rail.
