Water & Sewer fees increases needed

No one likes increases in fees, but most are necessary to provide basic infrastructure and services to keep our cities healthy. Cities nationwide face a crisis unseen to most — aging water and sewer pipes. Raleigh is too, and an expert commission that studied the problem, noting a dangerous lack of funding to address this growing problem. They recommended a series of water and sewer fee increases to replace failing pipes that cause both sewer overflows and water leaks. Some Raleigh City Councilors are questioning continued fee increases.

Here’s WakeUP’s response to the 3% fee increases proposed in the FY 19 budget.
