Each year WakeUP recognizes accomplishments of people and institutions also working to
advance healthy, sustainable communities and plan well for growth. This year was no different! At our community forum and reception, “Our Future: Growing Smart with Housing and Transit”, we presented awards to the following individuals for doing outstanding work in Wake County.

Sara Merz, Advocates for Health in ActionStan Norwalk Community Engagement Award

For bringing public awareness to the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and for a leading community-wide effort to build resilience and improve public health.

Blair Hinkle and Kevin Boyer, City of Raleigh Stormwater Management Division – WakeUP Leadership Award
