WakeUP Wake County is a board-led, nonprofit/tax-exempt organization that depends on committed, engaged board members to provide leadership and expertise regarding crucial land use and development issues in Wake County.

While day-to-day operations are executed by the Executive Director and Executive Committee (comprised of the Executive Director, Board Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary), board members establish the organization’s strategic priorities.
Board members are responsible for organizational fiscal management and typically serve on one committee or task force and engage in fundraising activities. Each member of the board is expected to fully engage in board and committee meetings, as well as education and advocacy events and programs scheduled throughout the year. We are committed to a maintaining a board that represents diverse disciplines, life experiences, genders, ethnicities, and localities within Wake County. The terms of board members last two years, with a maximum of three consecutive terms.
